Description

This class is held either Online OR In-person, but not both at once.  Be sure to carefully verify your format and location when you register.

This parenting stuff is hard. We don’t want you to do it alone.

Transitions is not your typical “baby and me” group. This unique group brings together new parents who want to dive deep into who they are now that they are parents – the good, the great, the bad, and the ugly. And of course, the tired. Oh, the tired.

The group belongs to the parents and topics discussed are chosen according to the priorities of each group. This group is facilitated by Teddie Buchner, Occupational Therapist, who will support and guide parents through a weekly discussion on topics including:

  • The change in personal identity that comes with becoming a parent
  • Coping with sleep deprivation
  • Relationship changes with your partner, your family, your friends
  • Changing Body Image
  • New measures of productivity
  • Postpartum Mental health
  • Growing your confidence in parenting

Our goal is to create a support network of women who are all navigating the joys and challenges that come with new motherhood. It aims to foster a community of shared experience and support to empower new mothers to gain confidence in their evolving role of motherhood.

Gain understanding and affirmation that you are seen by receiving support, providing support, and taking time for yourself to recognize your own needs. Now more than ever, it is important to cultivate your village, and make those connections among other new parents.

Motherhood is an evolving role, come join a community of women experiencing the same life changes to support you in the tough times and celebrate the joys of this amazing journey!

Because this group is led by an occupational therapist, it is eligible for coverage through extended health insurance benefits.

FAQ:

Can I get this covered under insurance if I live in another province?

It would appear that you may be able to, but you should check with your insurance just to be sure.

How does my insurance handle this?

We provide you with an occupational therapy receipt at the end of the series, which may allow this class to be covered by your insurance! This receipt is itemized and breaks the class fee into 6; please note that if you have insurance coverage, your insurance will only cover you for those weeks that you are present in class.

Oona's studio mask policy

Masks are highly recommended but optional in all studio classes. Please do bring your mask with you though, as masks are mandatory in all common areas in our clinics, including reception, hallways, etc.
