Yzobela Hyett

Yzobela Hyett (she/her)

Registered Psychotherapist

Since 2008, Yzobela has worked as a counsellor in the fields of reproductive and maternal health, and draws on her own lived experience of the challenges of becoming a parent. She has extensive training and experience in working with issues related to pregnancy, infertility, pregnancy loss, and postpartum anxiety and other perinatal mood disorders. As a mother of three, she understand the uniqueness of each family’s situation and that there is no “one size fits all” solution. In individual therapy, she works with parents from an attachment-based perspective that respects the needs of all members of the family, and that prioritizes strong relationships as the foundation of meaningful change.

Whether you are dealing with overwhelm, grief, relationship issues, or unhelpful thoughts or behaviours, therapy is an opportunity to carve out a space where you are the priority, where your feelings and experiences take centre stage, and where all your attention can be focused on your growth, healing and transformation. Yzobela’s background in feminist counselling and social justice work means that Yzobela will acknowledge how your own experiences and behaviour are influenced by the social systems that we exist in and how to address social barriers in order for you to thrive in your environment. Through this process of deepening awareness and self-compassion, you can discover how to soothe and heal yourself. Yzobela is committed to inclusion, equity, social justice, LGBTQII2A and People of colour rights.

To book an appointment, please contact Yzobela directly. She can be reached at [email protected] or 647-933-5515. Yzobela schedules her own appointments, to help accommodate various and ever-changing schedules for everyone.
