Allison Winik is a Registered Social Worker (RSW, MSW, BSW) dedicated to supporting individuals and families through life’s challenges with compassion, empathy, and authenticity. She provides individual and couples counselling using a trauma-informed, attachment, and strengths-based approach, helping clients build resilience and feel understood, empowered, and supported.
Allison’s passion for perinatal mental health began in New Zealand, where she gained specialized training and hands-on experience supporting individuals and families through pregnancy, postpartum, and the transition to parenthood. Since returning to Canada, she has focused her practice on maternal and family mental health, serving as Clinical Director and Counsellor at qathet Birth Collective, alongside her work as a public health social worker with Vancouver Coastal Health.
Allison brings a warm, genuine presence to her work, with foundational training in CBT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing, and advanced training as a Somatic EMDR Practitioner, helping clients process trauma through both mind and body. She believes counselling should feel like a collaborative, judgment-free space, and she is honoured to walk alongside clients through pregnancy, postpartum, and every stage of parenthood.
When Allison is not working, you’ll find her outside whether it’s hiking, camping, surfing, you name it, she’s there! She is also a songwriter and singer, and is always working on new music.
